National Nuclear Data Center (NNDC)
NNDC collects, evaluates, and disseminates nuclear physics data for basic nuclear research and for applied nuclear technologies.

No Nukes Inforesource
No Nukes Inforesource is a collection of news about incidents in nuclear power plants. Additionally, for each country a detailed website is presented with information about energy production, nuclear policy and radioactive waste management. For all nuclear sites informations about the plants are given including type of reactor, a map, start of construction and operation dates, shutdown dates and the status of licensing procedures. The information is provided by the Austrian Institute of Ecology.

Maps of Nuclear Power Reactors
These maps are provided by the International Nuclear Safety Center, operated by Argonne National Laboratory for the US Department of Energy. Clicking on the NPP symbol will show the most important data about the reactors at the respective site. Data about operational status have not been updated since a few years.

Power Reactor Information System (PRIS) of IAEA
PRIS covers two kinds of data: general and design information on power reactors, and information about operating experience with nuclear power plants. Covered are all reactors that are in operation, under construction, or shutdown. Also historical data of shutdown reactors are included.

European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)
The Centre provides operational medium- and extended-range forecasts and a state-of-the-art super-computing facility for scientific research. It also pursues scientific and technical collaboration with satellite agencies and with the European Commission.

European Commission Joint Research Center (JRC)
The JRC is a research based policy support organisation and an integral part of the European Commission. The mission of the JRC is to provide customer-driven scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of EU policies. As a service of the European Commission, the JRC functions as a reference centre of science and technology for the Union. Nuclear topics account for a quarter of the workload in three research areas ("Nuclear waste management and environmental impact", "Nuclear safety", "Nuclear security").

European Committee on Radiation Risk (ECRR)
The ECRR was formed in 1997 following a resolution made at a conference in Strasbourg arranged by the Green Group in the European Parliament with the aim of providing scientific advice for health consequences of low-level radiation. In 2003, a recommendation was published ( "The Health Effects of Ionising Radiation Exposure at Low Doses and Low Dose Rates for Radiation Protection Purposes. Regulators´ Edition") using evidence from recent research, from new discoveries in radiation biology and from human epidemiology (esp. Chernobyl). This recommendation is a critical counterpart to the recommendations of the ICRP. In May 2010, an updated version will be available.

European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS)
The objective of EURADOS is to advance the scientific understanding and the technical development of the dosimetry of ionising radiation in the fields of radiation protection, radiobiology, radiation therapy and medical diagnosis by the stimulation of collaboration between European laboratories, specially those of the European Communities.

IAEA is an independent international organization related to the United Nations system by a special agreement. It was set up as the world´s "Atoms for Peace" organization in 1957. Today IAEA serves as an international center of cooperation in the nuclear field. 

International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU)
The ICRU has the mission to develop and promulgate internationally accepted recommendations on radiation related quantities and units, terminology, measurement procedures, and reference data for the safe and efficient application of ionizing radiation to medical diagnosis and therapy, radiation science and technology, and radiation protection of individuals and populations.

The International Commission on Radiological Protection, ICRP, is an independent Registered Charity, established to advance for the public benefit the science of radiological protection, in particular by providing recommendations and guidance on all aspects of protection against ionising radiation.

International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War
IPPNW is a global federation of national physicians' organisations dedicated to safeguarding health through the prevention of nuclear war. For its efforts IPPNW was rewarded the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize.

International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA)
The primary purpose of IRPA is to provide a medium whereby those engaged in radiation protection activities in all countries may communicate more readily with each other and through this process advance radiation protection in many parts of the world. This includes relevant aspects of such branches of knowledge as science, medicine, engineering, technology and law, to provide for the protection of man and his environment from the hazards caused by radiation, and thereby to facilitate the safe use of medical, scientific, and industrial radiological practices for the benefit of mankind.

National Council on Radiation Protection (NCRP)
NCRP’s mission is to formulate and widely disseminate information, guidance and recommendations on radiation protection and measurements which represent the consensus of leading scientific thinking. The Council’s mission also encompasses the responsibility to facilitate and stimulate cooperation among organizations concerned with the scientific and related aspects of radiation protection and measurements.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was created as an independent agency by Congress in 1974 to enable the nation to safely use radioactive materials for beneficial civilian purposes while ensuring that people and the environment are protected. The NRC regulates commercial nuclear power plants and other uses of nuclear materials, such as in nuclear medicine, through licensing, inspection and enforcement of its requirements.

NIRS informs for more than 25 years about nuclear power, radioactive waste, radiation and sustainable energy issues.

OECD - Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA)
The mission of the NEA is to assist its Member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal bases required for the safe, environmentally friendly and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. To achieve this, the NEA works as: a forum for sharing information and experience and promoting international co-operation; a centre of excellence which helps Member countries to pool and maintain their technical expertise; a vehicle for facilitating policy analyses and developing consensus based on its technical work.

The European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM)
The Euratom Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) was initially created to coordinate the Member States' research programmes for the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The Euratom Treaty today helps to pool knowledge, infrastructure, and funding of nuclear energy. It ensures the security of atomic energy supply within the framework of a centralised monitoring system.

The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO)
This commission is an interim organization tasked with building up the verification regime of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) in preparation for the Treaty's entry into force as well as promoting the Treaty's universality.
